Before your assessment
- Once installed, you do not need to open Questionmark Secure to start your exam. It will open by itself. You cannot use it to navigate to or start your assessment.
- Please make sure you have a stable network connection.
- Make sure pop-ups are enabled in your browser before starting your exam.
- Close the following programs: MS Outlook, Skype (Lync), MS Teams, GoToMeeting
- Do not use VPN or other proxy software. GoToMeeting, Java, SnagIT and Viewlet Builder. These are the common applications which must be closed before you start the exam, however you will be prompted if other applications need to be closed.
- During your assessment you will not be permitted to use programs other than Questionmark Secure unless instructed to do so by your proctor. If a program is invoked accidentally you must close it and return to Questionmark Secure immediately, failure to do so may result in your exam being terminated.
- Your exam provider may have configured the assessment without an exit button after the assessment is completed. In this case, you will need to turn off/reset your computer.

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)
If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:
- Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.

- Press and hold the top button.
- When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.
Force restart iPad (models with the Home button)
Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
I already have Questionmark Secure and I’m getting a pop-up requiring a .qmsb file. What do I need to do?
This pop-up appears when you are trying to open Questionmark Secure directly. As mentioned above, the Questionmark Secure browser is not designed to run on its own. Simply go to where your assessment is located, and when you start your assessment, the browser will open automatically.
I receive a pop-up telling me to close certain applications. What should I do and why do I need to do this?
Questionmark Secure is designed so that it will not run whilst certain other applications are also running. Close the applications which are listed and relaunch your assessment. Note: If the pop-up mentions the Java application, Viewlet Builder and JAWA.EXE this can refer to any number of programs running on your PC. If your PC is provided by an employer, we recommend speaking to your internal help desk for assistance.
